Executor/Trustee

The executor of your will is normally refered to as the TRUSTEE.

An EXECUTOR/TRUSTEE is a person or persons whom you appoint to distribute your estate as per your instructions in accordance with your Will.

Anyone can be appointed as Executor/Trustee including beneficiaries however, if your Will is complicated, your may wish to appoint a professional person.

It may or may not be diplomatic to appoint a beneficiary as Executor/Trustee.

Your Executor/Trustee must be nominated by NAME (not “my Accountant” or “my Solicitor”), or you may appoint the company e.g. Smith & Jones Solicitors etc.

Make sure your Executor/Trustee is aware and accepts the appointment and, knows where your Will is stored. You may if you wish, give your executor access to your archived Will, he must be able to provide your personal Password.

You may also appoint The Public Trustee as Executor of your Will.

There are also Trustee Companies who provide Executor facilities.
